Guidalberto 2022 from Tenuta San Guido is a refined Tuscan red from one of Italy’s most legendary estates, created in the same spirit of precision and elegance that made Sassicaia world-famous. It offers a more approachable expression of the Tenuta’s style, while still carrying the prestige, balance, and pedigree that have defined the estate since the Super Tuscan revolution.

Tasting Notes
A polished, medium-to-full-bodied red with inviting depth and finesse. Expect a dark ruby colour in the glass, with aromas of ripe blackcurrant, plum, cedar, Mediterranean herbs, and subtle spice from oak maturation. On the palate, Guidalberto is supple and well-proportioned, combining fresh red and dark berry fruit with fine-grained tannins, lively structure, and a savoury, mineral-tinged finish. It is made to be enjoyed relatively early, but will continue to develop gracefully over the next several years, gaining more complexity and softness with time.

Production
Tenuta San Guido’s vineyards are spread across 90 hectares in parcels with varied soils, elevations, and sun exposure, allowing each plot to contribute its own character. The estate vinifies the parcels separately in small stainless-steel tanks before maturation in French oak, a careful approach that preserves detail, enhances complexity, and brings together fruit, structure, and finesse in the finished wine.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for grilled steak, roasted lamb, game birds, truffle dishes, and rich pasta with meat sauce. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for about 30–60 minutes if drinking young to help the wine open up and show its full aromatic range.
