Tenuta Paolo Scavino Barolo Prapò 2022 is a refined expression of Nebbiolo from the renowned Prapò cru in Serralunga d’Alba. Tasting Notes
The wine shows a deep ruby-red colour, gradually developing garnet hues with age. Its bouquet is complex and inviting, revealing ripe red berries, wild cherries and plums alongside rose petals, violet, liquorice and subtle earthy and spicy nuances. On the palate, the 2022 Barolo Prapò is full-bodied and energetic, with concentrated fruit, firm yet refined tannins and well-integrated acidity. Notes of cherry, raspberry, dried herbs, tobacco and balsamic spice unfold through a long, persistent finish. It is approachable with decanting in its youth, but will develop greater complexity over the next 10–20 years under suitable cellar conditions.

Production
The Prapò vineyard lies in Serralunga d’Alba, an area known for producing structured and long-lived Barolo wines. The wine is made exclusively from Nebbiolo, allowing the character of the site to take centre stage. Paolo Scavino combines careful vineyard work with modern winemaking techniques and a precise, parcel-focused approach designed to preserve the fruit, structure and individual expression of the terroir. Food & Serving
Serve at 16–18°C after allowing the wine to breathe. Decant for approximately 1–2 hours when drinking young to soften the tannins and reveal its aromatic complexity. Its structure makes it an excellent partner for braised beef, roasted game, truffle dishes, mushroom risotto, aged cheeses and other rich Piedmontese specialities.

Founded in 1921 in Castiglione Falletto, Tenuta Paolo Scavino is a historic family-owned estate and an established reference point in Barolo. Today, Enrico Scavino runs the winery together with his daughters Enrica and Elisa. The family owns approximately 29 hectares of vineyards and works with numerous historic crus across Castiglione Falletto, Barolo, La Morra, Novello, Serralunga d’Alba, Verduno and Roddi. With more than six decades of experience investing in distinguished Nebbiolo sites, the estate is known for powerful, elegant wines that express the character of their individual terroirs.
