Tasting Notes
Deep ruby red with the garnet hues that develop naturally in Nebbiolo. The nose offers an intense and versatile aromatic profile, with ripe red fruit, floral notes and subtle earthy and spicy nuances. On the palate, the opening is smooth and rounded, supported by a precise balance between fresh acidity and fine-grained tannins. Beneath its approachable texture lies considerable depth, leading to a long, layered and nuanced finish. The 2019 vintage has the structure and concentration to develop beautifully in bottle. It can be enjoyed now with decanting, while further complexity should emerge over the next decade or more when properly stored.

Production
Bricco Ambrogio is produced from Nebbiolo grown in the Barolo area of Piedmont, where hillside vineyards and the region’s distinctive soils help shape wines of freshness, perfume and firm structure. The grapes are destemmed and crushed before undergoing skin maceration for approximately 10–12 days and alcoholic fermentation for around 20–30 days in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks. Natural fermentation is followed by malolactic fermentation in 225-litre barrels. The wine matures for 10 months in French oak, followed by 12 months in large casks, then spends a further 10 months blending in stainless steel and 10 months ageing in bottle. Natural tartaric stabilisation takes place during the third winter of maturation.

Food & Serving
Serve at approximately 16–18°C. Decant for around 1–2 hours to open the wine’s aromas and soften its youthful tannins, particularly when drinking it now. Its balance of fruit, acidity and structure makes it an excellent partner for braised beef, veal, game, truffle dishes, mushroom risotto and aged hard cheeses.

The Scavinos own 29 hectares of vineyards and also work with 20 historic Barolo vineyard sites across Castiglione Falletto, Barolo, La Morra, Novello, Serralunga d’Alba, Verduno and Roddi. Their approach combines traditional knowledge with modern winemaking techniques, resulting in highly sought-after Barolo wines known for their distinctive terroir expression, elegance and complexity.
