Tasting Notes
In the glass, Muranera shows a deep, inviting color and an immediately generous style. The nose is layered with ripe dark fruit, subtle sweetness, balsamic notes, dark chocolate, and floral hints, while oak aging adds a refined tobacco accent. On the palate, it feels full-bodied yet smooth, with supple tannins and a rounded texture that makes it easy to enjoy. The 15 months in new French barriques bring extra depth and spice, giving the wine a polished finish and good aging potential over the next few years.

Production
The wine comes from Tenuta Iuzzolini’s vineyards in Calabria, where the estate works with a mix of indigenous and international varieties. The grapes are harvested by hand at full ripeness to preserve intensity and balance, then vinified with care before aging for 15 months in new French barriques. This combination of local terroir, modern cellar equipment, and traditional vineyard philosophy gives the wine its depth and finesse.

Food & Serving
Muranera 2024 is a versatile match for robust pasta dishes, grilled steak, and duck breast with port sauce. It also works beautifully with well-aged hard cheeses or blue cheese at the end of a meal. Serve it at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 30–60 minutes if you’d like to soften the tannins and open up the aromas.

Tenuta Iuzzolini was founded in 2004 by Fortunato and Giovanna, who set out to prove the potential of their Calabrian homeland at a time when many winemakers were looking north. The estate’s 100 hectares are largely planted with native varieties such as greco bianco, gaglioppo, and magliocco, and the winery combines advanced cellar technology with a strong respect for tradition. Built in a classic style and home to a museum of centuries-old artifacts, Tenuta Iuzzolini has become a proud ambassador for Calabria’s wine heritage.
