Tenuta Iuzzolini, Donna Giovanna 2025 White

Tenuta Iuzzolini’s Donna Giovanna 2025 is a characterful Calabria white that balances ripe fruit, gentle sweetness, and the depth that comes from careful oak aging. Made from late-harvest Greco Bianco and named after Giovanna, it reflects both the family’s personal story and the region’s long winemaking heritage.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a bright, polished appearance with the richness you’d expect from a late-harvest white. The nose leans toward ripe stone fruit, citrus peel, and a touch of floral sweetness, rounded out by subtle vanilla and toasted oak notes. On the palate, Donna Giovanna is full-bodied and layered, with a soft, pleasantly off-dry feel that supports its mature fruit character. The oak aging adds texture and complexity without overwhelming the wine’s freshness. It should drink beautifully now, though it may gain additional nuance over the next few years.

Production
The grapes come from Tenuta Iuzzolini’s 100-hectare estate in Calabria, where native varieties dominate and the winery’s philosophy strongly favors local identity and tradition. Greco Bianco is harvested late to encourage greater ripeness and a naturally softer, lightly sweet profile. Fermentation and maturation take place with the support of modern cellar equipment, followed by aging in new oak to build structure, depth, and complexity.

Food & Serving
Serve slightly chilled at around 10–12°C. It pairs well with rich seafood, roasted poultry, creamy pasta dishes, and mildly spiced Asian cuisine, as well as semi-aged cheeses. Decanting is not necessary, but a short period in the glass will help the aromas open up.

Today, the family is recognized for helping showcase the potential of Calabria’s native grapes and terroir.
