Taylor's Late Bottled Vintage 2020

Taylor’s Late Bottled Vintage 2020 is a refined expression of Douro Port, offering impressive depth and elegance at an accessible stage of maturity. Aged in large oak casks, it shows the classic Taylor’s balance of structure, purity, and generous dark-fruit character, built on a heritage that stretches back to the 17th century.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it presents a deep ruby color with excellent clarity and brilliance. The nose is expressive and finely judged, with aromas of strawberries and plums leading the way, lifted by a warm, inviting sweetness and subtle oak complexity. On the palate, this LBV is full-bodied and layered, yet remarkably smooth and rounded. The fruit feels juicy and concentrated, framed by soft tannins and a long, harmonious finish that lingers pleasantly. While approachable now, it has the structure to develop further over the next several years.

Production
Sourced from Taylor’s own vineyards in the Douro Valley—Quinta de Vargellas, Quinta de Terra Feita, and Quinta do Junco—this port reflects the region’s steep, rugged terroir and demanding growing conditions. The grapes are vinified in the traditional manner and then matured in large oak casks, allowing the wine to soften and integrate while preserving its vibrant fruit and freshness.

Food & Serving
A natural match for chocolate desserts and blue cheeses such as Roquefort and Stilton, this Late Bottled Vintage also works beautifully as a contemplative after-dinner pour. Serve slightly cool, ideally around 16–18°C, and decant if desired to enhance clarity and elegance in the glass.

Taylor’s is one of the great names in Port, founded on a tradition that began in 1692 when Job Bearsley arrived in Portugal. The family’s early investment in the Douro helped build strong ties with local growers, giving the house access to exceptional fruit—an advantage it still values today. Still independently owned and based in Vila Nova de Gaia, Taylor’s exports to more than 50 countries and remains one of the most respected Port producers in the world.
