Talbot 2022 is a classic Saint-Julien from one of Bordeaux’s most established names, offering the depth, structure, and polish expected from a Fourth Growth classified estate. Tasting Notes
In the glass, Talbot 2022 shows a deep ruby core with youthful purple reflections. The nose is expressive and layered, with blackcurrant, dark cherry, cedar, graphite, and subtle hints of spice and violets. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied with fine-grained tannins and a fresh, balanced profile. Dark berry fruit is supported by notes of tobacco, pencil lead, and savoury oak, leading to a long, composed finish. This is a wine with strong aging potential, and it should evolve beautifully over the next 10–20 years, gaining complexity and softness with time.

Production
Talbot comes from vineyards in Saint-Julien, where gravelly soils over limestone and clay provide excellent drainage and help Cabernet Sauvignon ripen with precision and concentration. The 2022 vintage was harvested parcel by parcel to preserve optimal ripeness and freshness, with careful sorting in the cellar. Vinification followed the estate’s traditional Left Bank approach, with temperature-controlled fermentation and maturation in French oak to build structure, finesse, and ageing capacity.

Food & Serving
Talbot 2022 pairs naturally with roast lamb, beef fillet, duck breast, game, and mushroom-based dishes, as well as hard aged cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C for the best expression of its aromatic detail and texture. Decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended when young to open the bouquet and soften the tannins.
