Description
Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Rosé 2012 is one of the House of Taittinger’s most prestigious cuvées, presented here in an elegant gift box. Crafted from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, it combines power, finesse and remarkable precision, showcasing the house style at its most refined. With its reputation for grace and ageing potential, it stands among the most distinguished rosé Champagnes from the Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a luminous salmon-pink hue with fine, persistent bubbles. The bouquet is expressive and layered, with notes of red berries, citrus zest, white flowers and subtle brioche, evolving with hints of spice and minerality.
The palate is vibrant and silky, balancing ripe berry fruit with freshness, structure and a long, chalk-driven finish. The 2012 vintage brings impressive concentration and tension, giving the wine excellent ageing potential over the next decade or more, where it will continue to gain complexity and depth.
Production
Comtes de Champagne Rosé is made only in exceptional vintages from carefully selected grapes sourced from top Grand Cru vineyards, with Pinot Noir providing depth and Chardonnay bringing elegance and lift. The 2012 harvest benefited from a challenging but ultimately very promising growing season, yielding grapes with strong aromatic intensity and balance. Vinification is handled with great care to preserve purity and precision, with a significant proportion of reserve or selected red wine components contributing to the cuvée’s signature rosé expression.
Food & Serving
This Champagne is a superb match for refined dishes such as lobster, tuna tartare, duck breast, langoustines or salmon. It also pairs beautifully with dishes featuring red berries or lightly spiced Asian cuisine. Serve chilled at around 8–10°C, and consider short decanting only if desired for the wine to open slightly in the glass rather than in a decanter.
Producer
Founded in 1734, Taittinger is one of Champagne’s most respected historic houses, known for its elegant, Chardonnay-driven style. Based in Reims, the house has earned an international reputation for producing wines of finesse, purity and consistency, with Comtes de Champagne among its most celebrated prestige cuvées. Taittinger remains a benchmark producer in the region and a reference point for luxury Champagne.
