Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a polished amber-gold color. The nose is inviting and layered, with red berries, dried fruit, subtle spice, and a touch of Mizunara-inspired incense-like complexity. On the palate, it is silky and expressive, opening with soft orchard fruit, strawberry jam, and gentle oak before moving into hints of sandalwood, vanilla, and warm spice. The finish is elegant and lingering, with a delicate dryness and a pleasant sweet-fruity return. It drinks beautifully now, though its balance and structure suggest it can continue to evolve gracefully over time.

Yamazaki is located on the outskirts of Kyoto, where humid conditions, pure water, and a varied microclimate help create a distinctly nuanced whisky. The Distiller’s Reserve is crafted from malt whiskies matured in different casks, including American oak, sherry casks, and the prized Japanese Mizunara oak, then carefully blended to achieve harmony and depth.

Food & Serving
Best enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water to раскрыv its aromatic layers; it can also be served slightly chilled if preferred. Pair it with smoked salmon, grilled eel, roasted duck, or dark chocolate desserts. Serve at room temperature, and decanting is not necessary.
