Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby colour. The nose is inviting and layered, with aromas of blackcurrant, dark cherry, cedar, cocoa, and subtle spice. The palate is full-bodied and beautifully balanced, with silky tannins, generous dark fruit, and a long, harmonious finish. Cabernet Sauvignon leads the blend, while Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc add nuance, structure, and extra complexity. It is enjoyable now, but has the structure and freshness to develop gracefully with cellar time.

The Lyndenhurst blend is sourced from Spottswoode’s own vineyards alongside selected Napa Valley parcels, bringing together estate character and regional depth. The wine is vinified in line with Spottswoode’s meticulous approach and matured in a combination of French oak barrels, which lends polish, spice, and elegance without overwhelming the fruit.

Food & Serving
This Cabernet Sauvignon is a natural match for grilled or roasted beef, lamb, venison, and richly flavoured dishes such as braised short ribs or mushroom risotto. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if drinking young to help the wine open up fully.
