Solengo 2000 Magnum

Solengo 2000 Magnum is a powerful and highly collectible Super Tuscan from Argiano, combining Bordeaux-inspired structure with the depth and character of Tuscany. Originally created by legendary oenologist Giacomo Tachis, it has become one of the estate’s most acclaimed wines and a benchmark for the style.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows an impenetrable black, almost inky color that immediately signals concentration and depth. The nose is intensely aromatic, with layers of dark fruit, cassis, violet, and vanilla, unfolding with remarkable richness and precision. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and forceful, yet beautifully balanced by fine, well-integrated tannins and a velvety, almost powdery texture. Despite its power, it never feels heavy; instead, it delivers impressive freshness, structure, and length, with excellent aging potential for many years to come.

Production
Solengo is produced at Argiano in Tuscany, a historic Brunello estate renowned for combining tradition with innovation. The blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Sangiovese is aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, a vinification approach that brings together classic Bordeaux elegance and Tuscan intensity in one seamless wine.

Food & Serving
This is a superb match for grilled or roasted red meats, braised short ribs, venison, truffle dishes, and richly flavored Tuscan cuisine. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for at least 1–2 hours before drinking to allow the wine to fully open and reveal its complexity.

The estate gained further prestige through the creation of Solengo by Giacomo Tachis, the celebrated former chief oenologist behind Sassicaia, helping to establish Argiano among Tuscany’s elite producers.
