Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby red color with garnet reflections, signalling both youth and complexity. The bouquet opens generously with layered aromas of graphite, ripe red berries, clove, and vanilla, unfolding with impressive mineral tension and spice. On the palate, the wine is long, balanced, and refined, with soft, persistent flavors and a polished, velvety tannic frame. It has the structure and concentration to age gracefully for many years, developing even greater nuance with time in bottle.

Production
Poggio Doria is produced from Sangiovese grown in the Brunello di Montalcino zone in Tuscany, where the combination of altitude, limestone-rich soils, and Mediterranean influence helps shape wines of power and finesse. Fermentation and maceration last 26 days at a controlled temperature below 30°C, preserving aromatic precision and varietal purity. The wine is matured for 18 months in first- and second-use French oak barrels from Allier, followed by 12 months in large Slavonian oak casks, and then aged in bottle for at least 36 months before release.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for rich Tuscan dishes, grilled or roasted red meats, game, braised beef, and mature hard cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours to allow the aromatics and tannins to fully open.
