Sella & Mosca’s Tanca Farra is a characterful Sardinian red that brings together Cabernet Sauvignon and Cannonau in a polished, expressive style. Born from one of Europe’s most historic estates in Alghero, it combines local identity with international structure, resulting in a wine with real presence and a strong sense of place.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, Tanca Farra shows a deep, inviting ruby-red hue. The nose is layered and distinctive, opening with sour cherry, anise, rose water, and myrtle, then unfolding into softer sweet notes of pipe tobacco, with just a subtle hint of alcohol adding warmth. On the palate, it is lively and full of personality, with a notably silky, glycerin-rich texture that gives the wine both breadth and finesse. The fruit carries through beautifully on the finish, where the aftertaste remains pleasant and echoes the aromatic profile. With its balance and structure, it should continue to develop gracefully over the next few years.

Production
Produced in Alghero on Sardinia’s northwestern coast, this wine reflects the island’s sunny climate and the estate’s long winemaking tradition. The blend is made from 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Cannonau, with the grapes vinified to preserve freshness and aromatic precision. It is aged for three years in total, first in barrels and then in medium-sized oak casks under controlled temperature at 15°C, followed by at least six months in bottle before release.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for roasted lamb, grilled beef, game, and hearty Mediterranean dishes such as aubergine parmigiana or slow-cooked tomato-based stews. Serve it at 16–18°C to bring out its fragrance and texture, and consider decanting for 30–60 minutes if you want the aromatics to open up fully.
