Seguin-Manuel’s Beaune Blanc 1er Cru Clos des Mouches 2020 is a refined Burgundy Chardonnay from one of Beaune’s most admired premier cru sites. Tasting Notes
Pale gold in the glass, with a luminous, polished appearance that hints at its finesse. The nose opens with white flowers, lemon zest, ripe orchard fruit, and a delicate touch of toasted almond and subtle oak. On the palate it is beautifully balanced, offering citrus, pear, and stone fruit framed by fine mineral tension and a creamy texture that gives the wine extra volume without losing definition. The finish is long and graceful, with freshness carrying through to the end and just enough structure to suggest excellent development over time. While approachable in its youth, the 2020 vintage should reward cellaring for several years, gaining complexity and a more pronounced honeyed, nutty depth.

This wine comes from Clos des Mouches, a celebrated premier cru vineyard in Beaune known for its favorable exposition and limestone-rich soils that suit Chardonnay exceptionally well. Decanting is usually not necessary, but a short period in the glass can help the wine open up and reveal its full aromatic range.
