Tasting Notes
The wine presents a deep golden colour, reflecting its considerable age and concentration. Its complex bouquet opens with aromas of ripe, honeyed fruit, complemented by delicate spice and mature tertiary notes. On the palate, it is richly sweet and generous, with flavours of preserved ripe fruit and honey balanced by refreshing acidity. The finish is long, persistent and harmonious. As a 1976 Beerenauslese, it is best appreciated for its mature character, although well-stored examples may continue to evolve in bottle.

Erbacher Marcobrunn is a renowned Rheingau vineyard associated with powerful, long-lived Rieslings. Beerenauslese is produced from individually selected, exceptionally ripe grapes, often affected by noble rot, which concentrates their sugars and flavours. The wine’s balance comes from the natural acidity of Riesling, allowing its sweetness and concentration to develop gracefully over time.

Food & Serving
Serve well chilled at approximately 8–10°C in small white-wine or dessert-wine glasses. It is an excellent match for foie gras, blue cheese, fruit-based desserts, crème brûlée and elegant pastries, while its mature sweetness also makes it a rewarding wine to enjoy on its own. Decanting is not essential, but carefully standing the bottle upright before opening and pouring gently can help separate any natural bottle sediment.
