In the glass, Santus Franciacorta Satèn Brut shows a luminous straw-yellow color with fine, persistent bubbles that form a delicate, creamy mousse. The nose opens with fresh citrus and green apple, followed by notes of white flowers, ripe pear, and subtle hints of brioche, hazelnut, and mineral tones typical of quality Franciacorta. On the palate, it is silky and polished, with that characteristic Satèn softness: the perlage is gentle yet vibrant, wrapping flavors of lemon zest, stone fruit, and crisp apple in a creamy texture. Production
This Franciacorta is made from 100% Chardonnay grown on the rolling hills of Lombardy, where mineral-rich morainic soils and a cool, breezy climate help preserve natural acidity while promoting slow, even ripening. Santus harvests the Chardonnay later than usual, allowing the grapes to gain extra concentration, aromatic depth, and textural richness before picking. The wine is produced following the traditional method: gentle pressing of whole clusters, followed by a controlled fermentation of the base wines and careful blending. Secondary fermentation takes place in the bottle, where the wine rests on its lees for an extended period to develop its creamy texture and fine mousse. A Satèn-style Franciacorta is bottled at a lower pressure than classic Franciacorta, which enhances its signature softness and elegance, before disgorgement and a carefully judged Brut dosage to maintain balance between richness and freshness.

Pair it with delicate seafood such as oysters, scallops, shrimp tartare, or sushi, as well as lightly fried fish, tempura vegetables, and creamy fish or shellfish pastas. It also complements soft cheeses, poultry dishes with light cream sauces, and refined antipasti. For best enjoyment, serve chilled at around 8–10°C (46–50°F). Decanting is not necessary, but opening the bottle a few minutes before serving and pouring into fine, tulip-shaped sparkling wine glasses will help the aromas and texture fully express themselves.
