Santa Maria La Palma Redit Cannonau Riserva 2019 is a refined and expressive take on Sardinia’s signature red grape, offering the depth and character that have made Cannonau one of the island’s most celebrated wines. Hand-harvested and matured in French oak, it combines ripe fruit, Mediterranean complexity, and a polished, modern style.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep, насыщенный ruby-red color with an inviting brightness. The nose is intense and layered, with notes of red berries, wild herbs, and the aromatic scrubland of the Mediterranean, supported by subtle oak spice and a touch of toast. On the palate it is full-bodied and persistent, yet remains graceful and balanced. Ripe red fruit, savory herbal nuances, and gentle tannins lead to a long, harmonious finish. The structure suggests good aging potential, with the wine likely to gain further nuance and softness over the next several years.

Production
The cuvée draws from vineyards in Alghero and Santa Maria La Palma, where vines grow on clay and loose sandy soils close to the sea, at altitudes reaching around 200 meters. Fruit from the Jerzu area comes from hillside vineyards at varying elevations, rooted in granite and clay alluvial soils. The grapes are carefully selected and hand-harvested, then aged for 12 months in medium-toasted 500-liter French oak tonneaux, allowing slow micro-oxygenation to build complexity and finesse.

Food & Serving
This Riserva is an excellent match for roasted lamb, grilled beef, wild boar, aged Pecorino, and rich Mediterranean dishes with herbs and tomato. Serve at 16–18°C, and decant for about 30–60 minutes if possible to allow the aromas and texture to fully open.
