San Filippo Brunello di Montalcino is a beautifully classic expression of Tuscany’s most celebrated red wine, made from 100% Sangiovese Grosso. Sourced from vineyards just outside Montalcino, it reflects the elegance, structure, and heritage that have made Brunello a benchmark for Italian wine.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby red color with subtle garnet reflections, hinting at both youth and serious aging potential. The bouquet is intense and layered, offering spices and ripe black cherry, with the kind of complexity that unfolds gradually in the glass. On the palate, it is full-bodied and harmonious, with a long, persistent finish. The tannins are dense yet silky, giving the wine both immediate appeal and the promise of excellent development over time.

Production
San Filippo’s vineyards lie only a few kilometers from Montalcino, in a landscape recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage area and shaped by the distinctive terroir of southern Tuscany. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel at controlled temperatures, with maceration lasting 2 days at 10°C followed by 10 days at 26–28°C. Malolactic fermentation is carried out in a combination of concrete, stainless steel, and oak, before the wine matures for 24–28 months in barrel and an additional 10 months in bottle.

Food & Serving
This Brunello pairs wonderfully with rich Tuscan dishes such as bistecca alla fiorentina, slow-braised beef, game, and mature hard cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C, and consider decanting for at least one hour to allow its aromas and structure to open fully.
