Rocche dei Manzoni’s Barolo DOCG Big 'D Big 2018 is a single-vineyard expression from one of Barolo’s most celebrated sites, Mosconi, in the village of Barolo. Made entirely from Nebbiolo, it combines precision, power, and elegance, with the structure and longevity that have made Barolo one of Italy’s most revered wines.

Tasting Notes
The wine shows a deep, vivid ruby color with impressive intensity in the glass. On the nose, it is refined and aromatic, opening with violet notes, fresh red cherries, and a subtle noble complexity that hints at the wine’s serious structure. The palate is concentrated and powerful, with generous fruit held in check by firm tannins and vibrant acidity. While still youthful in style, it has the balance and depth to evolve beautifully over time, with excellent cellaring potential for up to 30 years.

Production
Big 'D Big comes from the Mosconi vineyard in Barolo, widely regarded as one of the appellation’s finest sites for producing full-bodied, intense Nebbiolo. The vineyard is farmed according to biodynamic principles, with vines planted at a density of around 4,000 vines per hectare. The grapes are harvested by hand, fermented under controlled temperature, and then transferred to barriques for aging for up to 48 months before bottling.

Food & Serving
This is an ideal partner for rich dishes such as lamb, braised meats, and recipes featuring truffles, which mirror its depth and structure. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting it if drinking young to allow the aromas and tannins to open fully.
