Tasting Notes

The finish is built around serious tannins and a lingering herbal edge, suggesting a wine that will continue to develop beautifully with time. The Les Seuvrees parcel in Gevrey-Chambertin brings the character you would expect from this part of the Côte de Nuits: a terroir suited to Pinot Noir with enough presence to give the wine backbone and savory complexity. In 2011, the fruit was totally destemmed, as Nicolas Groffier felt the stems had not reached full ripeness, and the wine was bottled in March 2013, shortly after malolactic fermentation was completed.
