Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows the depth and concentration expected of a serious Aglianico, with a dark, насыщенный ruby color that hints at its intensity and age-worthy structure. The nose opens with layered aromas of ripe dark fruit, dried herbs, spice, and subtle oak, supported by a mineral edge that speaks to its Castel del Monte origin. On the palate, it is full-bodied and complex, with firm tannins, vibrant acidity, and a beautifully balanced core of black cherry, plum, licorice, and savory spice. The oak aging adds polish without overwhelming the grape’s natural character. Production
The Cappellaccio Aglianico Riserva comes from Castel del Monte in northern Puglia, a hillside area shaped by cooling breezes from the nearby Adriatic Sea and the moderating effect of the inland slopes. The manual harvest is followed by 12 months of maturation in oak, then at least another 12 months of bottle aging, allowing the wine to gain depth, structure, and refinement before release.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for grilled or roasted red meats, lamb, braised dishes, game, and rich Mediterranean cuisine such as slow-cooked ragù or aged cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C, and decanting for about an hour is recommended to allow the wine’s aromas and structure to fully open.
