On the palate, the wine is dry, precise, and textured, with Riesling lending a fine line of acidity, while Grauburgunder and Weißburgunder bring a rounder, slightly creamy feel. Production
The grapes for this wine come from the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer, where vines cling to steep, slate-rich hillsides that capture sunlight and radiate warmth, while the cool river-influenced climate preserves acidity and finesse. In line with Trossen’s certified organic and biodynamic philosophy, vineyards are farmed without synthetic chemicals, with a focus on soil life, biodiversity and manual vineyard work, including hand-harvesting at optimal ripeness. In the cellar, the “Purus” line is made with as little intervention as possible: gentle pressing, spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, and minimal, if any, fining or filtration, allowing the blend of Pinot varieties and Riesling to express the Mosel terroir in a pure, unadorned way.

This dry, lively white is a versatile partner at the table. Try it with freshwater fish, simply grilled or pan-fried, light poultry dishes, vegetable tarts, soft goat cheese, sushi, or aromatic salads with herbs and citrus-based dressings. It works beautifully with lighter vegetarian cuisine and subtly spiced dishes that benefit from freshness rather than sweetness. Serve well-chilled, around 8–10 °C, and if possible, pour it into white wine glasses rather than very narrow Riesling flutes to let the aromas open.
