In the glass, the wine typically shows a deep ruby color with youthful purple highlights. The nose is expressive and layered, with blackcurrant, ripe plum, cedar, graphite, violet, and subtle spice notes emerging with air. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied, with supple tannins, fresh acidity, and a core of dark berry fruit framed by notes of tobacco, pencil shavings, and a touch of oak spice. The 2022 vintage should offer both concentration and finesse, with the structure to develop gracefully over the next 8–12 years, while also being enjoyable earlier than the estate’s grand vin.

This is an excellent match for roast lamb, entrecôte, duck breast, beef tenderloin, or mushroom-based dishes. It also pairs beautifully with aged hard cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C, and decant for 30–60 minutes if drinking young to help the aromatics open up and soften the tannins.
