Raventós Rosell, CavaBrut Reserva 2023

Raventós Rosell Cava Brut Reserva 2023 is a traditional-method sparkling wine from Catalonia, combining the freshness of Penedès with the added refinement of extended lees ageing. Established at Heretat Vall-Ventós in 1985, Raventós Rosell is known for creating distinctive wines that respect local varieties while embracing the finesse of selected French grapes.

Tasting Notes
Bright and lively in appearance, this Cava releases aromas of crisp apple, citrus and a subtle touch of brioche. On the palate, it is fresh and dry, with a fine, persistent mousse and vibrant acidity. The finish is clean and lightly almond-like, adding a delicate savoury nuance to the wine. Its 18 months of ageing on the lees bring additional texture and gentle complexity without compromising its freshness. It is ready to enjoy now, although careful short-term cellaring may allow the brioche and nutty notes to develop further.

Production
Produced at Heretat Vall-Ventós near Masquefa in the Penedès, the wine reflects Raventós Rosell’s approach of combining indigenous Penedès varieties such as Macabeu, Xarel-lo and Parellada with selected French varieties where appropriate. The second fermentation takes place in bottle according to the traditional method, followed by at least 18 months of ageing on the lees to develop finesse, complexity and a fine mousse.

Food & Serving
An elegant aperitif, this Cava is also well suited to shellfish, mussels, delicate fish dishes and tapas. Its dry, refreshing character works particularly well with refined vegetarian preparations. Serve well chilled at approximately 6–8°C. Decanting is not recommended; pour gently into sparkling-wine glasses to preserve the bubbles and aromas.

Producer
Raventós Rosell’s story began in 1985, when Joan Raventós Rosell and Maria Carme Vallverdú Ferrer acquired Heretat Vall-Ventós in Masquefa, close to Montserrat. The estate focuses on quality, aroma and flavour while respecting the values and traditions of the land. Its signature lies in combining the structure and regional character of Penedès’ native grapes with the finesse of varieties such as Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, creating wines with a clearly individual identity.
