Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a beautiful, delicate rosé colour with a polished, mature sheen. The nose is fresh and expressive, with lifted aromas that sit alongside more subtle savoury and tertiary notes from extended ageing. On the palate, it is persistent, layered, and surprisingly full, balancing freshness with real breadth and complexity. The blend of Garnacha, Tempranillo, and Viura gives it structure and poise, while the long ageing potential of the wine has already brought added nuance and finesse; it will continue to evolve beautifully over time.

Production
Produced in Rioja from a blend of 60% Garnacha, 30% Tempranillo, and 10% Viura, this wine reflects the classic, historic approach of López de Heredia. The grapes are sourced from the Viña Tondonia estate, where old-vine material and the region’s distinctive limestone-rich terroir contribute to the wine’s character and longevity. It spends four years in oak casks before further bottle ageing prior to release, a meticulous vinification and maturation process that is central to its Gran Reserva identity.

Serve slightly chilled, ideally around 10–12°C, to let its freshness and complexity shine. It pairs wonderfully with charcuterie, roast poultry, grilled salmon, tuna, mushroom dishes, and refined tapas; decanting is not essential, but a brief aeration can help reveal its layered aromatic profile.
