Tasting Notes
Deep violet in the glass, this wine immediately shows its youthful energy and concentration. The nose is intense and lifted, with aromas of blackcurrant, bergamot, orange peel, and wild flowers. On the palate, it is fruity, fresh, and rounded, with polished tannins that give the wine a smooth, appealing texture. The finish is powerful and persistent, suggesting good ageing potential over the next few years as the fruit integrates further with the oak and the structure softens.

Production
This Syrah comes from Quinta do Noval’s vineyard in the heart of the Douro Valley, where the region’s warm climate and dramatic terroir help produce grapes with ripeness, freshness, and depth. The wine was fermented for seven days in stainless steel tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation, then aged for 10 months in barrels, including 36% new 225-litre French oak, adding subtle complexity and structure.

Food & Serving
This wine pairs well with grilled lamb, roast beef, duck breast, game dishes, and richly flavored mushroom or herb-based plates. Serve at 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 30–60 minutes if you want to open up its aromas and soften the tannins a little.
