In the glass, the wine shows a deep ruby-purple color with a vibrant edge. The nose is expressive and layered, with ripe black cherry, plum, and blackberry joined by hints of violet, cocoa, cedar, and subtle spice. The palate is supple yet structured, delivering ripe dark fruit, fine-grained tannins, and a fresh mineral line that keeps the wine balanced and focused. 2020 has the concentration and harmony for graceful aging, and this wine should continue to develop complexity over the next 8–15 years, gaining notes of truffle, tobacco, and leather with time.

Production
Quinault L'Enclos comes from Saint-Émilion, where the clay-and-limestone soils help Merlot achieve both richness and precision, while Cabernet Franc typically adds lift and aromatic detail. The 2020 vintage benefited from careful vineyard work and selective harvesting to bring in fruit at optimal ripeness, followed by traditional Bordeaux vinification with temperature-controlled fermentation and élevage in oak to build structure, depth, and polish.

This wine pairs beautifully with roasted lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast, game birds, and mushroom-based dishes, as well as aged hard cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C and decant for about 1 hour if drinking young, to allow the aromatics and texture to open fully.
