Prunotto Barbaresco is a classic expression of Nebbiolo from the heart of the Langhe, offering the elegance, structure, and aromatic complexity that have made Barbaresco one of Italy’s most admired wine styles. Under the Antinori family’s stewardship, Prunotto has become known for bringing out the very best in this noble Piedmontese grape.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a brilliant, intense garnet-red color that hints at its depth and maturity. The bouquet is layered and expressive, with notes of red berries and delicate spice, unfolding gradually as the wine opens. On the palate, it is full-bodied yet refined, with a velvety texture, firm structure, and a long, persistent finish. The balance of fruit, freshness, and tannin gives it excellent aging potential, allowing it to develop greater nuance and complexity over time.

Production
This Barbaresco comes from the Langhe hills in Piedmont, where Nebbiolo thrives in well-suited vineyard sites that help preserve the grape’s signature perfume and structure. The grapes are carefully harvested and undergo about 15 days of maceration before the wine is aged for around one year in oak barrels of varying sizes, a method that adds depth while respecting the purity of the fruit.

Food & Serving
An excellent match for red meats, especially roasted or grilled dishes, as well as aged cheeses that can stand up to its structure and tannin. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for about an hour if you want the aromas and texture to fully раскрыte themselves.
