Prackfol, Südtiroler Blauburgunder 2022

Prackfol Südtiroler Blauburgunder 2022 is an elegant Pinot Noir from the sunlit mountain slopes of South Tyrol. Its combination of bright red fruit, refined tannins and subtle oak makes it a fine expression of the region’s cool Alpine climate and distinctive porphyry soils.

Tasting Notes
The wine has a bright ruby-red appearance. On the nose, it offers delicate aromas of cherries and raspberries, complemented by a gentle hint of spice. The palate is soft and finely structured, with refreshing acidity, polished tannins and a graceful, fruit-driven finish. It is approachable in its youth, while its balance and careful maturation should allow it to develop additional savoury and earthy nuances over the next several years.

Production
Prackfolerhof’s vineyards lie on the slopes of South Tyrol, where sunny days are tempered by cool Alpine nights, creating significant diurnal temperature variation that helps preserve freshness and aromatic finesse. The vines are rooted in porphyry soils, and the parcels are tended with a focus on expressing their individual terroir. The grapes are carefully destemmed before undergoing temperature-controlled fermentation, with measured extraction to protect the wine’s elegance. Maturation takes place partly in large wooden casks and partly in used barriques, adding subtle structure and harmoniously integrated tannins without allowing the oak to dominate.

Food & Serving
Serve at approximately 14–16°C. This refined Blauburgunder pairs particularly well with poultry, veal and delicately prepared game, as well as sophisticated charcuterie and other lightly seasoned dishes. Decanting is not essential, but a short 20–30-minute airing can help open the aromas, especially when enjoying the wine in its youth.
