Poggio del Sole Puglia Negroamaro 2025 is a richly coloured Italian red that captures the generous, sun-soaked character of southern Puglia. Made from Negroamaro and crafted by Filippo Baccalaro, it combines expressive dark fruit, gentle herbal spice and a smooth, balanced style with an elegant presentation.

Tasting Notes
The wine shows a deep red colour with vivid purple and black hues. On the nose, intense aromas of blackcurrants and wild berries are complemented by spicy herbal notes reminiscent of thyme. On the palate, it is soft, rounded and well balanced, with generous fruit and a satisfying, flavourful finish. Its approachable character makes it enjoyable in its youth; while it is best appreciated for its fresh, fruit-driven profile, it should be consumed over the next few years rather than kept for extended ageing.

Production
Produced in Puglia, a warm southern Italian region well suited to the naturally generous Negroamaro grape, the wine is made to express the character of its terroir through ripe fruit and balanced freshness. The grapes undergo a 10-day skin maceration at controlled temperature, followed by alcoholic fermentation with selected yeast strains. The wine is then matured in stainless-steel tanks, preserving its clean fruit expression and vibrant style.

Food & Serving
A versatile choice for flavourful appetisers, roasted or grilled meat dishes and mature cheeses. Serve slightly cool, at around 16–18°C, to highlight its fruit and maintain balance. Decanting is not essential, although a brief airing in the glass can help the aromas open up.
