Poggio al Tesoro Mediterra is a vibrant Tuscan red that brings together the warmth of Bolgheri with an easy, immediately appealing style. Crafted from Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, it balances ripe fruit, spice and freshness in a way that makes it both characterful and highly drinkable. Born in one of Tuscany’s most exciting coastal wine areas, it reflects the region’s modern energy while staying true to its roots.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a bright, enticing red hue with a fragrant, inviting profile. The nose is full of blackberries, plums and cherries, lifted by peppery, spicy notes that add depth and movement. On the palate, Mediterra is juicy and supple, with generous fruit framed by a lively, well-balanced structure. The oak ageing in used barrels adds subtle complexity without overshadowing the wine’s freshness, resulting in a smooth, elegant finish. It is made to be enjoyed young for its vivid fruit, though it can develop additional nuance over the next few years.

Production
This wine comes from Bolgheri in coastal Tuscany, a terroir shaped by sun, sea breezes and well-drained soils that are particularly well suited to Bordeaux and Rhône varieties. The blend is made up of 40% Syrah, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot, and it is aged for 8 months in used barrels to preserve the purity of the fruit while adding gentle texture and complexity.

Food & Serving
Serve at around 16–18°C. It pairs beautifully with grilled meats, roast chicken, pasta with rich tomato sauces, mature cheeses and Mediterranean dishes featuring herbs and vegetables. Decanting is not essential, but a short aeration can help open up its aromatic spice and ripe fruit.
