Tasting Notes
Burdese 2021 shows a deep, concentrated ruby color with a dense core that hints at its ripe fruit and firm structure. The nose is layered and expressive, with aromas of blackcurrant, dark cherry, plum, and sweet spice, followed by subtle notes of cedar, tobacco, herbs, and a faint touch of Mediterranean earth. On the palate, it is full-bodied and tightly built, with polished tannins, fresh acidity, and a long, persistent finish. The Cabernet Sauvignon provides structure and black-fruited intensity, while Cabernet Franc adds aromatic lift and finesse. This is a wine with excellent aging potential, and it will continue to develop greater complexity over the next 8–15 years, or longer in a well-kept cellar.

Production
Burdese is produced in Sicily from carefully selected vineyard sites that benefit from the island’s abundant sunshine, cooling breezes, and mineral-rich soils, all of which help preserve freshness in this otherwise powerful blend. The grapes are harvested with a focus on optimal ripeness and phenolic maturity, then vinified with the aim of extracting structure, color, and aromatic intensity while maintaining elegance and balance.

Food & Serving
This wine pairs beautifully with grilled beef, roast lamb, game, braised short ribs, and richly flavored dishes such as mushroom risotto or aubergine parmigiana. Serve it at 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if drinking young to allow the wine to खुल fully and soften its tannins.
