It carries the legacy of a once small, historic vineyard site while offering the depth and balance expected from a modern Barolo of real pedigree.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows the classic translucent ruby-garnet hue of Nebbiolo, with brightness that hints at precision and freshness. The nose is elegant and layered, with aromas of red cherry, rose petal, and violet, lifted by subtle spice, earth, and a touch of balsamic complexity. On the palate, Via Nuova is structured yet graceful, with fine tannins, vibrant acidity, and a core of red fruit that gradually gives way to savory notes of herbs, licorice, and mineral tension. It has the concentration to age beautifully, and while approachable with time in bottle, it will reward cellaring over the next decade or more.

Production
Via Nuova takes its name from a small vineyard near the center of Barolo, historically close to the old road that once connected Barolo and Novello. After the 2010 reorganization of Barolo’s additional geographical mentions, the site was absorbed into the larger Terlo subzone, and the wine is now made as a tribute to tradition using Nebbiolo from Terlo and Liste within the Barolo commune. The result is a Barolo that reflects both historical identity and the distinctive character of these prized hillside parcels.

Food & Serving
This is a natural match for rich Piedmontese dishes such as braised beef, tajarin with truffle, risotto with porcini, or roasted game birds. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for 1–2 hours if drinking young to help the wine open and soften its tannins.
