Pico Maccario Nizza DOCG Tre Roveri 2021 is a refined expression of 100% Barbera from one of Piemonte’s most celebrated appellations. Balancing tradition and modern precision, it combines the grape’s natural vibrancy with a touch of oak maturity for added depth and elegance.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a bright ruby-red color that immediately draws the eye. The nose opens with sun-ripened red berries, followed by subtle notes from the barrel aging that add a gentle spice and complexity. On the palate, it is lively yet polished, with juicy red fruit at the core and a smooth texture that carries through to a long, satisfying finish. The wine has the structure and balance to develop beautifully over the next few years, while already offering plenty of charm today.

Production
Made from 100% Barbera grown in Piemonte’s Nizza zone, where the vineyards benefit from ideal exposure and soils well suited to producing concentrated, expressive wines. The wine is aged for 12 months in a combination of large used oak casks and smaller new barrels, a method that preserves freshness while adding nuance and finesse.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for rich pasta dishes, roasted meats, braised beef, and aged cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C, and consider decanting for about 30 minutes if you want to soften the structure and bring out more of the wine’s layered aromatics.
