Tasting Notes
In the glass, Pétrus 2006 shows a deep, polished color and a remarkably refined aromatic profile. Black cherry, blackberry, and ripe plum are layered with truffle, cedar, tobacco, mocha, and graphite, while with age the bouquet gains notes of spice, forest floor, and mineral complexity. The palate is concentrated and deep, yet famously silky in texture. Dark fruit is supported by firm, well-integrated tannins and a vibrant freshness that lifts the wine through a long, graceful finish, where black berries, cocoa, coffee, and subtle mineral tones linger. This is a vintage with excellent aging potential, built to evolve beautifully over decades.

Best served with rich dishes that can match its depth and complexity, such as roast lamb, beef tenderloin, game, duck breast, or truffle-infused cuisine. Serve at around 16-18°C, and decant for at least 1-2 hours if drinking young; older bottles may only need a brief decant to open gently.
