Tasting Notes
The wine typically shows a deep, youthful color with a polished, modern Bordeaux profile. On the nose, expect blackcurrant, dark plum, cedar, graphite, and subtle floral and spice notes, with oak adding a refined layer of vanilla and toast. On the palate, it is usually medium- to full-bodied, with ripe dark fruit, firm but well-integrated tannins, and a fresh mineral edge that reflects Pauillac’s classically structured style. The finish is long and composed, and while enjoyable now with proper aeration, it should also reward several years of cellaring.

Production
Produced in Pauillac on Bordeaux’s Left Bank, Petit Mouton benefits from the estate’s gravelly soils, which are ideal for Cabernet Sauvignon-driven wines, with parcels contributing precision, power, and aromatic complexity. The grapes are carefully selected from the Mouton Rothschild vineyards and vinified with the same attention to detail as the grand vin, using rigorous sorting and parcel-by-parcel management before maturation in French oak barrels.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for roast lamb, beef fillet, duck breast, game birds, or mushroom-based dishes. Serve at 16–18°C, and decant for 1–2 hours if drinking young to allow the aromas to open and the tannins to soften.
