Winemaker Vanessa Wong’s background in Burgundy shows in the wine’s layered complexity, graceful structure, and seamless blend of bright fruit and savory nuance. Sitting stylistically between the more refined Scallop Shelf and the more rustic Pomarium, it offers both elegance and character.

Tasting Notes
The wine shows a vivid, polished profile in the glass, with aromas of cranberries, nearly ripe strawberries, raspberries, cedar, gooseberry, and a subtle earthy note that adds depth. On the palate, it’s generous and inviting, with sweet red cherry, cranberry, and raspberry framed by a fresh hint of mint. The finish is long, soft, and moreish, giving the wine a sense of effortless drinkability while still maintaining shape and definition. It is already showing beautifully now, but has the balance and structure to age gracefully for many years.

Ama Estate Pinot Noir is blended from 5-6 Pinot Noir clones grown at Peay Vineyard in California. The wine reflects Peay’s cool-climate approach, where careful site selection and a focus on varietal expression help preserve freshness, lift, and aromatic precision. Vanessa Wong’s vinification style brings a Burgundian touch to the estate fruit, emphasizing finesse, texture, and complexity.
