Description
Paul Gayot Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2024 is a light, well-structured Burgundy red that offers a straightforward expression of its regional character at an accessible price. Approachable and easy to enjoy, it is a versatile bottle for relaxed occasions and everyday dining, while reflecting Burgundy’s long-standing tradition of crafting elegant Pinot Noir.
Tasting Notes
The wine presents a bright ruby-red colour. Its style is fresh and inviting, with delicate red-fruit aromas and a gentle, uncomplicated character. On the palate, it is light-bodied yet neatly structured, combining fresh fruit with a smooth, easy-drinking finish.
This Bourgogne Pinot Noir is made to be enjoyed in its youth, when its freshness and approachable texture are at their most expressive. It can be served shortly after release rather than held for extended ageing.
Production
The wine is a simple translation of Burgundy’s terroir, though specific vineyard details are not provided. The grapes undergo destemming followed by a three- to five-day cold maceration before fermentation. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks, with daily remontage and gentle punching down of the cap. The wine is then matured for 12 months in stainless steel, preserving its freshness and clear fruit character.
Food & Serving
A versatile choice for classic French dishes, this Pinot Noir pairs particularly well with terrines, small sausages, pâtés and andouillettes. Serve slightly cool, around 14–16°C, to highlight its freshness. Decanting is generally unnecessary, although a brief opening before serving can help the wine express its aromas.
