In the glass, the wine is typically deep and vivid in colour, hinting at the richness within. The nose is expected to be expressive and layered, with dark berries, violets, cedar, warm spice and subtle earthy nuance, all delivered with the refined aromatic profile that defines great Margaux. On the palate, Palmer 2020 should feel supple yet powerful, combining ripe black fruit with fine tannins, fresh acidity and an almost silky texture. Production
Château Palmer sits on the gravelly terraces of Margaux, where well-drained soils help the vines achieve balance and concentration. Vinification is designed to preserve purity and complexity, followed by élevage in oak to refine the tannins and add layers of structure and spice.

This is a superb match for classic premium dishes such as roasted lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast or game with rich sauces. It also pairs beautifully with mature hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for at least 1–2 hours if drinking young to allow the wine to fully open and show its fragrance.
