Opus One 2019 is one of Napa Valley’s most iconic collector wines, born from the groundbreaking partnership between Baron Philippe de Rothschild and Robert Mondavi. Crafted in a refined Bordeaux-inspired style, it blends Cabernet Sauvignon with classic supporting varieties to create a wine of depth, precision, and unmistakable prestige.

Tasting Notes
Deep, dark ruby in the glass, the 2019 Opus One shows remarkable concentration and polish. Aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, violet, cedar, graphite, and subtle vanilla unfold with layers of elegance, while the palate is full-bodied, structured, and silky, with fine-grained tannins and a long, seamless finish. The wine balances ripe Napa fruit with classic Bordeaux restraint, offering power without excess. It is built for aging and should continue to develop beautifully over many years, gaining complexity, savory detail, and even greater finesse in bottle.

Production
The grapes are sourced from premium Napa Valley sites, with Cabernet Sauvignon leading the blend alongside Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec. The wine is aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels, followed by 15 months of bottle maturation before release, giving it structure, integration, and remarkable polish.

Food & Serving
Opus One 2019 pairs beautifully with prime rib, filet mignon, lamb, duck, truffle dishes, and aged hard cheeses. Serve it at around 16–18°C, and decant for at least 1–2 hours before drinking to allow the wine’s full aromatic and textural complexity to open up.
