Oltrenero Cuvée Emme Brut 2019 is a distinctive Metodo Classico from Lombardy made entirely from Pinot Meunier, a rare choice in Italy and a bold expression of the grape. Sourced from a small 2-hectare parcel, it reflects both Oltrenero’s spirit of experimentation and the character of the Oltrepadana hills, where clay and limestone-rich marl lend depth and precision.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, this blanc de noirs shows a bright, elegant personality with a refined mousse and a polished, inviting style. The nose is expressive and seductive, with notes that lean toward fresh orchard fruit, delicate florals, and a subtle savoury complexity, while the palate balances freshness with a creamy texture and a long, harmonious finish. The wine’s structure and complexity suggest very good aging potential, with the Pinot Meunier bringing both immediate charm and the ability to develop added nuance over time.

Production
Cuvée Emme comes from a two-hectare vineyard on the estate in the hilly Oltrepadana area of Lombardy, where clay-rich, calcareous marl provides a finely tuned terroir for sparkling wine production. The grapes are harvested by hand, and the wine is crafted using the traditional Metodo Classico, allowing the Pinot Meunier to express both freshness and depth in a rare 100% varietal bottling.

Food & Serving
This sparkling wine is an excellent match for refined appetizers, seafood, shellfish, sushi, light pasta dishes, and creamy cheeses. Serve well chilled at 6–8°C, and if possible, open shortly before serving to let the wine fully show its fragrance and texture; decanting is not recommended for sparkling wine.
