Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep mahogany colour that hints at its depth and maturity. The nose opens with cooked dark fruit, burnt figs and orange peel, lifted by a lively edge that reflects its higher strength. The palate is creamy, spicy and impressively full-bodied, unfolding notes of sherry caramel, dates, cardamom and eucalyptus. The finish is long, rounded and warmly spiced, with a lovely minty undertone that keeps the powerful profile feeling fresh. While ready to enjoy now, its concentration and structure suggest it will continue to reward slow contemplation in the glass.

Production
This blend is made from carefully selected casks sourced from respected distilleries across the Caribbean and Central America. Slow fermentation and distillation help build a naturally complex spirit with a high ester character, before it is matured in oak barrels and bottled at 55% to preserve its strength and aromatic intensity.

Food & Serving
Best served neat to appreciate its full character, or with a small splash of water to open up the spice and fruit notes. It pairs beautifully with dark chocolate, roasted nuts, dried fruit desserts, spiced pastries or a rich cigar. Serve at room temperature and decanting is not necessary, though allowing it to breathe for a few minutes in the glass can enhance the aromas.

Old St. Croix, formerly known as A.H. Riise, traces its origins back to 1838, when Danish apothecary Albert Heinrich Riise began producing medicinal preparations and spirits on St. Thomas. Inspired by the sugarcane wealth of the Danish West Indies, the brand grew from a local apothecary venture into an internationally recognised rum name, earning a gold medal at the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair. Today, Old St. Croix continues to draw on that legacy with premium blends that honour its historic roots while appealing to modern rum drinkers.
