Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a light golden color that reflects its soft, sunlit style. The aroma opens with dried orange and apricot, lifted by a fresh touch of spearmint, while the palate delivers concentrated notes of orange and mandarin wrapped in spiced fruit candy character. Hints of lightly toasted brown sugar, roasted wood, and a smooth tropical-fruit finish add complexity and keep the sweetness in check. Old St. Croix, formerly A.H. Riise, traces its origins to the 19th century, when Danish apothecary Albert Heinrich Riise began producing medicinal and spirit-based preparations in the West Indies. Over time, the brand became closely associated with premium Caribbean rum and gained international recognition, including a gold medal at the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair. Today, Old St. Croix continues to celebrate that heritage while presenting it in a contemporary, premium style.
