Made exclusively from grapes grown in the Sassella subzone, it reflects one of the region’s most historic and prized vineyards, known for its long association with protected hillside parcels dating back to the Swiss period.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, this wine is likely to show a brilliant ruby hue with the graceful translucency typical of Nebbiolo. Production
Le Tense is made entirely from Nebbiolo grapes sourced in the Sassella subarea of Valtellina Superiore, where steep terraced vineyards sit on ancient stone and rocky soils. These challenging hillside sites are well suited to producing wines with tension, precision, and a strong sense of place. The harvest is typically done by hand in this kind of terrain, and vinification is aimed at preserving the grape’s aromatic delicacy and the mineral expression of the terroir.

Food & Serving
This wine pairs beautifully with northern Italian cuisine, especially braised meats, game, mushroom dishes, risotto with porcini, and aged cheeses such as Bitto or Parmigiano Reggiano. Serve it at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for about 30–60 minutes if drinking it young to help open its aromas and soften the structure.
