With air, more complexity emerges: dried rose petals, tobacco, and hints of tar and sweet spices. Production
Vigna Molsino is a famed amphitheater vineyard in Gattinara, planted on steep, south and southwest-facing slopes of ancient volcanic porphyry and iron-rich, rocky soils at higher altitude. This terroir delivers both intensity and freshness, with low yields and naturally concentrated fruit. Grapes are typically hand-harvested to ensure perfect selection in the vineyard, then carefully sorted at the winery. Vinification follows a traditional, time-honored approach: a long maceration on the skins to extract aromatic complexity, structure, and fine tannins, followed by aging in large neutral oak botti, which preserves Nebbiolo’s purity while allowing the wine to slowly integrate and evolve.

Food & Serving
This Gattinara is an outstanding partner for rich, savory dishes such as braised beef or veal, ossobuco, roasted lamb, game birds, and truffle-infused cuisine. It also pairs beautifully with aged hard cheeses like Parmigiano Reggiano or mature Pecorino. Serve at 16–18°C (60–64°F) in large Burgundy or Nebbiolo stems to allow full aromatic expansion. In its youth, decanting for 2–3 hours is highly recommended to help the wine open up; as it matures, a shorter decant of 30–60 minutes will be sufficient to awaken its layered bouquet.
