Neethlingshof Estate Pinotage 2024 is a characterful South African red from one of Stellenbosch’s historic wine farms. Made from Pinotage, South Africa’s signature grape variety, it reflects the estate’s diverse vineyard sites and the warm, distinctive identity of the Cape Winelands.

Tasting Notes
The wine is expected to show a deep ruby to garnet colour, with inviting aromas of ripe plum, black cherry and blackberry complemented by subtle spice and hints of mocha. On the palate, Pinotage’s generous fruit character is balanced by savoury depth, gentle tannins and fresh acidity, leading to a smooth, lingering finish. The 2024 vintage is best enjoyed in its youthful, fruit-forward phase, although well-made Pinotage can develop additional savoury and earthy complexity over the next few years when stored in a cool, dark place.

Production
Neethlingshof is surrounded by the Bottelary Hills and Papegaaiberg near Stellenbosch, with views towards False Bay. The estate comprises eight distinct terroirs, varying in slope, elevation and exposure and incorporating soil types such as Tukulu, Oakleaf, Kroonstad and Katspruit. The higher-potential soils are planted with vines, while less suitable areas are primarily used for grazing. Specific harvesting and vinification details for this bottling have not been provided.

Food & Serving
Serve lightly cool at around 16–18°C to highlight the wine’s fruit and freshness.
