Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a bright ruby-red hue with the kind of translucency that signals freshness and classic Sangiovese character. The nose is layered and inviting, with aromas of red cherry, wild berries, violet, dried herbs, and subtle earthy and spice-driven notes. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and beautifully structured, with lively acidity, fine tannins, and a mineral streak that keeps the wine focused and long. The fruit is precise rather than heavy, supported by savory nuance and gentle grip; it should develop gracefully over the next several years, gaining more complexity and softness with age.

Production
Baron’ Ugo comes from Monteraponi’s hillside vineyards in Tuscany, where altitude, stony soils, and excellent natural drainage help preserve freshness and aromatic detail. The estate works with traditional vineyard practices and harvests by hand to ensure only healthy, fully ripe grapes are selected. Vinification is carried out with a classic, minimal-intervention approach that aims to express the character of the vintage and the estate’s terroir rather than mask it.

Food & Serving
This is a versatile food wine, especially well suited to Tuscan dishes such as pici with ragù, roast poultry, grilled lamb, wild mushrooms, and aged pecorino. Serve it slightly below room temperature, around 16–18°C, to keep the acidity and aromatics bright. Decanting for about 30–60 minutes is recommended, particularly in its youth, to allow the wine to open fully.
