Description
Montbiset Héritage Réserve G.S.M. 2024 is a generous Languedoc red shaped by the warm Mediterranean climate and the region’s long winemaking tradition. Crafted by Cave des Vignerons Audacieux, it combines ripe dark-fruit character with aromatic Mediterranean herbs, offering a smooth and full-bodied style at an appealing price. The G.S.M. blend reflects the classic southern French approach of bringing together Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre.
Tasting Notes
Deep red in colour, the wine opens with intense aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry and ripe cherry, complemented by fragrant Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, it is rich and rounded, with generous black-fruit flavours, notes of bay leaf and a subtle touch of pepper. The finish is soft, full and pleasantly lingering.
This is an approachable wine designed to be enjoyed in its youth, when its ripe fruit and smooth texture are at their most expressive. It should drink well over the next two to four years when stored in a cool, dark place.
Production
The wine comes from the Languedoc, near the village of Saint-Saturnin-de-Lucian, a few kilometres from Montpellier and within reach of the Mediterranean coast. The warm, sun-drenched conditions help produce ripe, flavourful grapes with a naturally generous character. Héritage Montbiset is made by the regional cooperative Cave des Vignerons Audacieux, which brings together growers from across the Hérault and Mediterranean areas. Specific harvesting and vinification details are not provided, but the finished style highlights ripe fruit, supple structure and classic southern French herbal notes.
Food & Serving
Serve at approximately 16–18°C. Its full, fruit-driven profile makes it a natural match for grilled or roasted meats, lamb, sausages, burgers and hearty Mediterranean dishes such as ratatouille or herb-seasoned vegetables. It is ready to drink on opening, though a short 20–30 minute decant or brief aeration can help reveal its fruit and herbal aromas.
Producer
Montbiset wines are produced by Cave des Vignerons Audacieux in Saint-Saturnin-de-Lucian, where a community of local winegrowers works across the Languedoc and Mediterranean landscapes. The cooperative preserves generations of regional winemaking knowledge while showcasing the warm, expressive character of southern France. Its Héritage range celebrates this connection between place, tradition and the hands of the growers who shape the wines.
