Description
Montbiset Héritage Réserve Chardonnay 2025 captures the warmth and generosity of southern France in a polished, contemporary white wine. Made by Cave des Vignerons Audacieux in the Languedoc, it combines ripe Mediterranean fruit with discreet oak influence and a smooth, creamy texture.
Tasting Notes
Bright pale yellow in the glass, this Chardonnay opens with an expressive nose of flowers, lime, apricot, mango, vanilla and subtle cedar. On the palate, it is full-bodied yet elegant, with flavours of yellow apple, mango and lychee layered with a delicate touch of buttery caramel. Well-integrated wood notes add creaminess without overwhelming the fruit, while refreshing acidity carries through to a long, soft finish. It is best enjoyed in its youth, although its balanced acidity should allow for short-term cellaring.
Production
The wine is produced in the warm Mediterranean surroundings of the Languedoc, near Saint-Saturnin-de-Lucian a few kilometres from Montpellier. Cave des Vignerons Audacieux brings together growers from across the Hérault area and toward the Mediterranean, combining the character of the region with generations of local winemaking knowledge. Specific harvesting and vinification details are not provided, though the wine’s creamy texture and integrated wood character suggest a carefully handled Chardonnay with measured oak influence.
Food & Serving
Serve chilled at around 10–12°C. Its generous fruit, fresh acidity and creamy texture make it a natural partner for grilled fish, shellfish, roast chicken, creamy pasta, risotto and mildly spiced Asian dishes. It also works well with soft cheeses. Decanting is not necessary, but allowing the wine a few minutes in the glass can help its floral, tropical and lightly oaked aromas unfold.
Producer
Héritage Montbiset is made at Cave des Vignerons Audacieux in Saint-Saturnin-de-Lucian, where a cooperative of local winegrowers produces wines that reflect the warm, diverse landscape between the Hérault and the Mediterranean coast. Montbiset’s range is rooted in the region’s long-established winemaking traditions, passed down through generations, while presenting the wines in an accessible and modern style.
