Made by a fifth-generation farming family, it reflects the McManis commitment to carefully managed vineyards and sustainable production in California’s inland wine country. The winery itself was founded in 1990, building on generations of experience growing grapes in the region.

Tasting Notes
Bright and inviting in the glass, this Viognier offers an aromatic nose of ripe apricot, peach and pear, complemented by a subtle mineral nuance. On the palate, the peach and pear flavours return with a pleasantly full, rounded impression, balanced by a crisp, pure finish. The aftertaste is long, fresh and remarkably clean. Best enjoyed in its youth, when its vibrant fruit and floral freshness are at their most expressive.

Production
The grapes are sourced from McManis Family Vineyards’ vineyards in California’s northern inland growing regions around the San Joaquin Valley, where carefully selected rootstocks and clones are matched to the local soils and subclimates. The vines are managed with detailed, labour-intensive techniques including leaf removal and cluster thinning to promote healthy, well-ripened fruit. After harvest, the grapes are crushed and pressed immediately, then transferred the following day to stainless-steel tanks for cool fermentation. The wine is also matured in stainless steel, preserving its fresh fruit character and mineral clarity.

Food & Serving
Serve this Viognier well chilled, at approximately 8–10°C. Its ripe stone-fruit profile and clean finish make it a versatile match for grilled or roasted poultry, seafood, sushi, lightly spiced Asian dishes, creamy pasta and soft, mildly flavoured cheeses. Decanting is not necessary, although allowing the wine a few minutes in the glass can help reveal more of its aromatic depth.

McManis Family Vineyards was established in 1990 and has since grown to encompass approximately 2,700 hectares of premium grape varieties across 10 estate vineyards in key areas surrounding the San Joaquin Valley. The winery is recognised for its sustainable viticultural practices, and all of its vineyards have received Green Winery certification. Despite its considerable production scale, McManis applies meticulous vineyard methods more commonly associated with smaller estates, including selective clonal choices, leaf removal and crop thinning.
